2011 NBN Senate Inquiry Responses

The Australian Government held an inquiry in to the role and potential of the National Broadband Network via the House Standing Committee on Infrastructure and Communications. The terms of reference was to examine the capacity of the National Broadband Network ref the delivery of government services and programs; achieving health outcomes; improving the education; impacting economic growth and employment, impacting business efficiencies and revenues, particularly for SME’s, research, development and innovation and more broadly, societal benefits.

235 public submissions were received, indicating the extent of interest and engagement, and a selection from major stakeholders is included below:

The committee’s report was delivered in August 2011, with a dissenting rport delivered by the Liberal/National coalition members of the committee. A copy of these reports can be found here.
